From April 6th through the 8th, Drexel University is hosting the 6th Annual North East Union of Vietnamese Student Associations Conference! The non-profit organization, dedicated to providing a better understanding of the Vietnamese culture through various activities for mutual benefit, is a call to us all to come out and support the student body.

To help out Drexel’s VSA come join the festivities:

This is a celebration of the arrival of new friends from the North East. Come see Drexel’s VSA host first the Vietnamese Folklore Festival on April 6th at 6pm at the Armory. Not only do you get to see a variety of traditional games and performances but you also get to taste and judge traditional food! That’s right, you get to decide which food tastes better while making new friends.

Next check out the Annual Culture show on April 7th. Dinner is at 5:30 featuring some delicious Vietnamese cuisine, and the show starts at 7pm sharp! Come see an original play, dancing, and singing performances. Have a good time while learning about a new culture.

The Northeast Union of Vietnamese Student Association (NEUVSA) is a community-based organization to unite the Vietnamese community in the Northeast region in order to engage our shared culture, to leverage resources for constituent schools, to foster individual professionalism and leadership, and to empower members to advocate social justice and awareness for causes relevant to the Vietnamese community.

This year, the 6th NEUVSA Annual Conference aims to educate the participants, to inspire prospective pathways and to lead a new generation of Vietnamese Americans into a constant yet ever changing world. The Participants shall also be invigorated with ideas, connected with one another and enlightened about Vietnamese American heritage as well as current issues within the community.

Our conference starts on Friday night (4/6) with Vietnamese Folklore Festival (Lễ hội dân gian Việt Nam) featuring traditional games and a competition between kiosks of Vietnamese street foods. Saturday morning (4/7), attendees will listen to TWO keynote speakers and TWO choices of workshops.
Culture Show will be organized at night as the last entertainment.
We will have our closing ceremony on Sunday.

Lifetime Experience with Vietnamese Folklore Festival 2012

PHILADELPHIA – February 29, 2012 – To celebrate the arrival of new friends coming from all over the Northeast area, Drexel Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) is hosting the Vietnamese Folklore Festival on Friday, April 6th at 6 p.m. at the Armory, Drexel University. The festival attendees are promised to have a fantastic experience as being the honored judges for the cooking competition among Drexel VSA members.

The most favorite team of the night voted by the attendees will be announced on the same day. Voting criteria will be based on the food quality, decoration and service of each team. Additionally, the festival will feature a variety of traditional games, performances, prizes and more.

Coming to the 2012 Vietnamese Folklore Festival, the guests have an opportunity to not only taste a diversity of authentic Vietnamese cuisine but also have fun and make new friends across the area.

The North East Union of Vietnamese Student Association (NEUVSA) is a community-based organization for Vietnamese youth organizations from across the Northeast United States to network with one another, share common resources, and collaborate on philanthropy projects. NEUVSA serves as united voice for Vietnamese American youth and bringing together students from different colleges and university in the Northeast region.
